Calendars: making quarter calendars, wall and desk calendars

Types of calendars:

  • quarter (corporate) calendars;
  • wall calendars (flip-over, poster calendars);
  • desk calendars (flip-over , tear-off calendars): 'desk tent', 'panel'.
  • colours: full-colour CMYK /4+0/, /4+4/ printing, possibly Pantone /5+0/ in the head and advertising fields; calendar grid colours: CMYK /2+0/.
  • calendar bindings: metal springs with a hanger or eyelet in the calendar head for wall mounting. Number of pages: one to thirteen. Quarter calendars are fitted with a slide box (cursor) to highlight the current date in the calendar block.

Calendars are produced using digital (up to 500 copies) or offset (500 or more copies) printing.

The calendar block consists of three sections 12 tear-off sheets each. The calendar block paper is coated, 90 g/m2.

In wall and desk calendar printing 90 g/m2 coated paper is used. Wall calendar formats: A4 to B1.

  • additional finishing: protective varnish, UV varnish (solid or spot), lamination (gloss or mat).
  • number of copies: one copy or more.

Quarter, wall and desk calendars

Advertising can be placed both in the calendar top and in its side fields between month blocks, on such blocks and on the calendar back.

Quarter calendar options (specifications):

Each block section contains 12 tear-off sheets.

Advertising field size (between calendar block sections): 50x297mm.

The calendar base consists of 300 g/m2 coated board;

Base colour: one-sided colour printing /4+0/, possibly additional colour Pantone /5+0/.

Calendar block section colour:

  1. /2+0/ - one-sided two-colour printing (selecting a standard calendar grid);
  2. /4+0/ or /5+0/ - full-colour printing with custom calendar grid.

Paper density for calendar block sections: 90 g/m2.

Calendar block sections are fitted with slider boxes to highlight the current date.

Calendar binding: metal springs.

Mounting: eyelet in the top slide.

Wall calendars:

Flip-over (tear-off) calendars

Format: A4 or more;

Paper: coated, from 90 g/m2 to 300 g/m2;

Colours: two-sided full-colour printing /4+4/, one-sided colour printing /4+0/, possibly additional colour Pantone /5+0/.

Additional finishing: protective varnish, UV varnish (solid or spot), lamination (gloss or mat).

Calendar back: 300 g/m2 board (one-sided coating)

Binding:

  • spring with hanger along the narrow (wide) side;
  • two staples, eyelet for wall-mounting;
  • gluing.

Conventional wall calendars are printed on 14 pages, 2 of them dedicated for the cover and back, and the separate internal 12-sheet block for 12 months.

Calendars bound on 2 staples with an eyelet for wall-mounting are normally made in 16 two-sided A4 pages (8 sheets).

Poster calendars

Format: A4 to B2;

Paper: coated, from 90 g/m2 to 300 g/m2;

Colours: one-sided colour printing /4+0/; possibly additional colour Pantone /5+0/.

Additional finishing: protective varnish, UV varnish (solid or spot), lamination (gloss or mat).

Binding: eyelet.

Poster calendars are steady attributes of any area, whether a bank, supermarket, cinema, drug store, etc. These are very popular, only consist of one paper sheet of various formats with the designer image and the calendar grid for the whole year on it.

Desk calendars

Binding: board fastenings on the bottom.

Flip-over tent calendars

Format options:

  1. 110x210mm;
  2. 148x210mm.

Board base and six flip-over sheets;

Paper: base: 300 g/m2 coated board; flip-over sheets: 150 g/m2 glossy coated paper;

Colours: base: one-sided colour printing /4+0/; flip-over sheets: full-colour printing /4+0/, possibly additional colour Pantone /5+0/;

Additional finishing: protective varnish, UV varnish (solid or spot), lamination (gloss or mat).

Binding: metal spring.
